HC Deb 11 November 1926 vol 199 c1280W
Mr. MACLEAN

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland the cause of delay in the provision of small holdings in the district of Waternish, Skye; and whether he can state any definite date when the holdings will be ready for occupancy?

Sir J. GILMOUR

The schemes prepared by the Board of Agriculture for Scotland in respect of certain lands at Waternish have been referred by me to the Land Court for report in pursuance of Section 9 of the Land Settlement (Scotland) Act, 1919. I understand that the lands have been inspected by two members of the Land Court with a view to the preparation of their report. Pending the receipt and consideration of the Land Court's report I am not in a position to reply to the second part of the question.
