HC Deb 11 November 1926 vol 199 c1279W
Mr. LANSBURY

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty what was the total cost involved in the naval exhibition of aerial and marine warfare, including the cost of ammunition and other explosives used during the recent visit of Dominion Premiers and friends to the Fleet at sea?

Mr. DAVIDSON

The visit to the Atlantic Fleet of the Dominion Premiers and friends was arranged to give our overseas visitors an opportunity of seeing the Fleet engaged in its ordinary duties at sea. The firing and other exercises were part of those which the Fleet is required to carry out normally in the course of the year, and the fuel, ammunition, etc., expended were specially reserved for the occasion from the annual allowances, and involved no extra cost whatever.
