§ Colonel DAYasked the Under-Secretary of State for India what action has been taken with a view to investigating the cases of alleged corruption in the Bombay City Police Force.
§ Earl WINTERTONI assume that the hon. Member is referring to the cases noticed in the Annual Report for 1925. I am informed that exhaustive inquiries were made by the Commissioner of Police into all the cases which were brought to his notice and that suitable action was taken against all police officers found guilty—by the Bombay Government in those cases which required their orders and by the Commissioner with the support of the Bombay Government in others.
