§ Mr. LOWTHasked the Minister of Labour whether his attention has been drawn to the number of women normally employed in the wallpaper trade in the Manchester district who have been denied unemployment benefit on the ground that they were not genuinely seeking work; whether he is aware that many of these women have, without avail, produced documentary evidence from employers of their search for employment, and that employers arc getting tired of signing these notes which are not accepted; whether he can state the ground for the decision that these women were not genuinely seeking work; and whether he will issue an instruction that in every case documentary evidence of a search for work is to be accepted as establishing a prima facieease?
