Mr. GUINNESSThe land used for the farm settlement at Patrington forms part of the Crown's Sunk Island Estate. The estate was not purchased by the Crown, but was reclaimed by the Commissioners of Woods (now the Commissioners of Crown Lands) from the Humber in or about the years 1800, 1826 and 1850.
