§ Mr. CONNOLLYasked the Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs whether Irish civil servants who were transferred from the British to the Irish Free State Govenment are entitled after the end of the transitional period to terms not less favourable than those accorded under Head B of Part I of the Rules of the Eighth Schedule of the 1920 Act; and whether any action is in contemplation with the Free State Government in office after the end of the transitional period to ensure that the rights of transferred civil servants shall not be worse than they were at the date of transfer?
§ Mr. AMERYI would refer the hon. Member to the reply which I gave on the 10th instant to a question on this 889W subject addressed to me by the hon. Member for Wigan (Mr. Parkinson). For the reason stated in that reply, tamely, that the rights conferred by Article 10 of the Articles of Agreement are statutory rights, there would not appear to he any necessity for action by His Majesty's Government in the matter.
