§ Miss WILKINSONasked the Minister of Health under what conditions the widow of an unemployed man who had been out of work for two years, and who does not come under the Prolongation of Insurance Regulations, can secure her widow's pension?
Mr. CHAMBERLAINIf the husband died on or after 4th January, 1926, and had since the time when he ceased work remained (except during sickness) available for but unable to obtain insurable employment, I am not aware of any reason why the Prolongation of Insurance Regulations should not be applicable. If the husband died before 4th January, 1926, the case will be governed by the provisions of Section 18 of the Act. If the hon. Member will give information with regard to any particular case she may have in mind I will look into it.
