HC Deb 09 March 1926 vol 192 cc2136-7W
Mr. GREAVES-LORD

asked the Postmaster-General if he can expedite the Departmental arrangements necessary to give effect to the scheme of promotion recently agreed upon with the Union of Postal Sorters, so as to put the scheme into force at an early date?

Sir W. MITCHELL-THOMSON

I understand my hon. and learned Friend to refer to a scheme for the allocation of promotions to overseerships in London as between sorters and head postmen respectively, which has been under discussion with the staff associations concerned for some time past. Arrangements have now been made to put the scheme into force early in April.
