HC Deb 09 March 1926 vol 192 c2127W
Mr. RHYS DAVIES

asked the Home Secretary whether societies which receive public funds and voluntary subscriptions for probation work are obliged to publish a classified account showing the receipts and expenditure in respect of probation work?

Sir W. JOYNSON-HICKS

There is no obligation at present, but I am informed that the principal voluntary societies which provide probation officers make a practice of publishing annual accounts showing the amounts they receive from public funds and from voluntary sources. The point will be borne in mind in connection with the rules to be made under Part I of the Criminal Justice Act, 1925.
