HC Deb 04 March 1926 vol 192 c1650W
Colonel DAY

asked the Home Secretary if he is aware of the largely increasing numbers of mock auctioneers operating in London and other cities and towns; and whether he will issue instructions for action by the Metropolitan Police in order that a greater measure of protection may be afforded visitors so imposed upon?

Sir W. JOYNSON-HICKS

The Commissioner of Police informs me that there has not been any increase in these concerns in the Metropolitan Police district recently. The police are fully alive to their duty in the matter, and I do not think that any special instructions are necessary.
