§ Mr. TAYLORasked the Secretary for Mines if any royalties are paid on salt mined in Great Britain or on the pumping of brine from which salt is produced; and the amount of income from such royalties, if any, received in the last convenient year?
§ Colonel LANE FOXRoyalties are paid both on rock salt and on brine. I have no definite information as to the total amount of income from such royalties, but I am informed that for the financial year 1925–26 the net amount of such income (including wayleaves) for purposes of Mineral Bights Duty was approximately £27,000.
