§ Colonel LANE FOXThe amount of coal imported into England and Wales between 1st May and 3rd July was 1,012,789 tons. The export of coal has been prohibited since the 1st May, except under permit. Since that date, only about 42,000 tons of very inferior quality coal not required in this country has been allowed to go abroad.
