§ Colonel DAYasked the Minister of Health if he is aware that the Chertsey Rural District Council have allowed the plans of their new houses to be inspected by two women, who have made suggestions as to the most suitable type of accommodation; and will he suggest to local authorities the advisability of obtaining women's points of view when they are proceeding with their housing schemes?
Mr. CHAMBERLAINIn a manual which was issued by my Department on the preparation of State-aided housing schemes, it was suggested that in considering the internal arrangements of houses local authorities would no doubt obtain the co-operation and advice of competent women. I do not think it is necessary to make further representations to local authorities in the matter.
