HC Deb 25 February 1926 vol 192 cc748-9W
Mr. OTHO NICHOLSON

asked the Minister of Health what arrangements have been made as to the payment of the costs, and by whom, in the legal proceedings concerning the recent surcharge of councillors in the Borough of Poplar and in the Borough of Bethnal Green?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

The Order of the Court in each case was that the costs of the auditor should be paid by the respondents to the appeal. I have at the present time under consideration an application from the Poplar Borough Council for sanction to the payment by the council of the costs of the auditor and of the costs which the respondents have themselves incurred.
