Mr. HURD

asked the Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs whether and, if so, what proposals have been made by the Ontario Government for the settlement in that province of British boys as farm apprentices?

Mr. AMERY

The Ontario Government have acquired a farm for the reception, placing and, if necessary, training of British boys under Government supervision, and have invited His Majesty's Government to co-operate under the Empire Settlement Act. The necessary Agreement is now under negotiation.
