asked the Secretary for Scotland the number of houses built in Scotland under the various housing schemes; the number still remaining to be built; and the total sum spent by the Government on housing in Scotland?

Following are the figures:

Position of State-assisted housing schemes in Scotland as at 31st January, 1926.

  1. (1) Houses erected, 37,004.
  2. (2) Houses under construction, 13,592.
  3. (3) Houses still to be commenced under approved proposals, 14,135.
  4. (4) Total Government expenditure, £4,063,345.

Note.—These figures do not include 1,702 houses which were built by the Scottish National Housing Company, Limited, for Admiralty employés at Rosyth Naval Base, for which an expenditure of £134,325 (exclusive of money advanced on loan) has been incurred.
