HC Deb 19 February 1926 vol 191 cc2298-9W
Mr. SNELL

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that, although Treasury approval for the introduction of a new scheme of clerical reorganisation in the War Office out-station offices was promulgated on 24th April, 1925, the clerical staff of the chief inspector, Royal Engineers stores, Woolwich, have not yet been assimilated to the new conditions; and will he give instructions for the scheme to be applied in this office forthwith?

Captain KING

The figures for the new establishment of the Chief Inspector, Royal Engineer Stores, are in an advanced state of preparation.

Sir F. SYKES

asked the Secretary of State for War if he will state, in respect of boy training establishments, the Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, the Royal Military College, Sandhurst, and the Staff College, Camberley, respectively, the estimated capital values of land and buildings occupied; the respective annual costs of building maintenance, of educational stores, of provisioning, and of other stores; the annual cost and the numbers of the educational staff; the annual cost and the numbers of the staff other than those engaged on educational or works maintenance duties; the annual cost of any other services; the establishment of personnel under training; and the maximum number under training during the past 12 months?

Sir L. WORTHINGTON-EVANS

I would refer my hon. and gallant Friend to the details of these establishments printed in Head III of the current Army Estimates. If he will let me know in what respects these do not meet his requirements, I will see to what extent they can be supplemented.
