HC Deb 15 February 1926 vol 191 c1564W
Captain BENN

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs when the Inter-Allied Control Commission in Germany will cease operations; and what steps are being taken to hand over the supervision of the disarmament clauses of the treaty to the League of Nations?

Sir A. CHAMBERLAIN

I am unable to give an exact date when the Control Commission will be withdrawn, as this must depend upon the execution by Germany of her obligations as defined in the note from the Ambassadors' Conference of the 16th November last, the text of which has already been laid before the House in Command Paper No. 2527. In that note it is stated that the Commission will be withdrawn as soon as it has been able to bring its task to a satisfactory conclusion. When this moment arrives, the necessary steps will be taken to notify the League of Nations of the cessation of allied military control.
