HC Deb 11 February 1926 vol 191 c1252W
Sir B. FALLE

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty on what date a sick-berth attendant would be eligible for promotion under the reply to Request 3 of Group VIII of the 1924 Welfare Requests who, whilst serving abroad, passed a successful provisional examination for leading sick-berth attendant on 1st September, 1920, failed the first attempt at a final examination in England on 1st December, 1921 and eventually passed finally on 1st November, 1922, observing that, but for foreign service, months only would have elapsed, and not years?

Mr. DAVIDSON

On the facts stated in the question, this sick-berth attendant would, if otherwise qualified and recommended, have been placed on the new system advancement roster as from the 1st November, 1922. No particulars are given of the period during which he was on foreign service, but if my hon. and gallant Friend will let me have details I will have the matter inquired into.
