asked the Minister of Agriculture the approximate average annual consumption of potatoes in Great Britain; the approximate average annual production in Great Britain; and the importations of potatoes into Great Britain in 1913, 1921, 1922, 1923, 1924, and 1925, distinguishing, if possible, the principal countries, including Ireland, from which imports are received?

The average annual production of potatoes on agricultural holdings and allotments in Great Britain for the years 1921 to 1925 was about 4,600,000 tons. The average annual consumption for all purposes in the same years, excluding any potatoes grown in private gardens, was rather over 5,000,000 tons. The quantities of potatoes imported into the United Kingdom in each of the years 1913 and 1921 to 1925, distinguishing countries of origin, are shown in the following table:
