HC Deb 11 February 1926 vol 191 cc1247-8W
Mr. SCURR

asked the Under-Secretary of State for India whether his attention has been called to the case of Driver P. J. McCarthy, of the Eastern Bengal Railway Company, who, as a punishment for having lost eight minutes time, had his wages reduced by 15s, a month for six months; whether he will have this man's case reviewed; and whether he will have a system of punishments introduced which will be consistent and commensurate with the nature of the offence?

Earl WINTERTON

I have no information on this case. If the facts be as stated, it would he open to Driver McCarthy to appeal to the agent of the railway.
