HC Deb 11 February 1926 vol 191 c1280W
Colonel DAY

asked the Home Secretary whether he is aware that the methods adopted in tests for drunkenness, especially in regard to motorists arrested on such charges, have given rise to numerous disputed opinions; and if he will consider the appointment of an official committee, to be representative of medical and judicial interests, in order that generally established tests shall be accepted, in order to obviate future complaints of unfair conviction?

Sir W. JOYNSON-HICKS

I am aware of various expressions of opinion. As at present advised, I do not propose to appoint a committee.
