HC Deb 09 February 1926 vol 191 cc883-4W
Sir C. CAYZER

asked the Minister of Transport whether his attention has been called to the growing confusion in many districts entailed by conflicting forms of transport and the different interests involved; and whether, in view of the many Private Bills proposing steps which may lead to an intensification of this result, he proposes to lay down general principles which should govern all developments of this nature?

Colonel ASHLEY

I am aware of the difficulties arising from these causes. In my reports on Private Bills I endeavour to give such assistance as I can to the Parliamentary Committees to which the Bills are referred, but, as my hon. Friend will realise, the decisions of the Committees must depend to a large extent upon the relevant local considerations involved, as set out in the evidence submitted to them.
