§ Sir L. WORTHINGTON-EVANSThe numbers and species of animals used during the period, 14th May, 1923, to 31st January, 1926, in gas poisoning experiments in this country was as follows:
868W Of this total, 447 were destroyed by or immediately after the experiment; 1,132 (excluding those destroyed by or immediately after experiment) were destroyed within one month; 345 suffered no harm, and the remainder were either destroyed more than one month later or have been used at such a recent date that they cannot be classified in the foregoing categories.
