§ Colonel DAYasked the Under-Secretary of State for India if he will place before this House the Report of the inquiry into certain irregularities alleged against the police of the northern division of Calcutta in relation to the sale of cocaine and keeping of gambling dens in Calcutta?
§ Earl WINTERTONThe Report referred to is presumed to be that of a Commission appointed by the Government of Bengal to enquire into alleged fabrication by the police of documents relating to a case of illicit cocaine traffic. The Government of Bengal have already published a communique accepting its findings and exonerating the police officers from all blame, and it is not considered necessary to call for a copy of the Report.
