§ Viscount SANDONasked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury if he can give an estimate of the cost incurred through the Government Bills which have been abandoned this Session in respect of the printing of the Bills, Amendments, and Reports of Debates, and also expenses incurred in keeping the House sitting during the time occupied by the consideration of these Bills?
§ Mr. McNEILLI very much doubt if it would be possible to obtain any reliable figures in answer to my Noble Friend's question, and in any case the attempt to do so would entail an expenditure of time and labour which would not be justified by the very problematical usefulness of the result.
