HC Deb 15 December 1926 vol 200 cc2947-8W
Sir W. de FRECE

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer by what amount the estimated saving of £2,740,000 per annum by the cut in the cost of living bonus in the Civil Service would be reduced if the super cut on bonus in the ease of the salaries of the senior civil servants were removed?

Mr. CHURCHILL

The cost of removing the super-cut on the bonus pay—able to civil servants with basic salaries in excess of £500 per annum is estimated at not less than £250,000 per annum at the present time.
