Captain GARR-JNESasked the Secretary of State for Air if he can conveniently state the proportion of flying accidents incurred by officer pilots and by airmen pilots, respectively, relative to their numbers and boars flown?
§ Sir S. HOAREAirmen pilots have not been in existence sufficiently long or in sufficiently large numbers to afford a comparison of any value. Broadly speaking, the death-rate among airmen pilots has been higher than among officer pilots; but it must be remembered that the number of the former is about a tenth the number of the latter, and that one accident makes a considerable difference in the average in so far as the airmen pilots are concerned.
