§ Mr. NEVILLE CHAMBERLAINThe number of spinsters in England and Wales between the ages of 50 and 70 as at the middle of 1925 may be estimated approximately at 530,000, but I am unable to say what proportion are not insured under the Contributory Pensions Act.
