asked the Minister of Labour how many female claimants for unemployment benefit have been refused in Glasgow since the 1st January, 1926?

Between 12th January, 1926, and 14th July, the number of applications from females for extended benefit considered by the local employment committees in the Glasgow area was 18,499, of which 12,969 were recommended for allowance and 5,530 for disallowance. Figures are not available regarding the number of disallowances otherwise than by local employment committees.
