§ Lord E. PERCYI assume that the hon. Member is referring to the volume of "Suggestions for the consideration of Teachers and others concerned in the work of Public Elementary Schools." A revision of this volume is now in hand, and I hope it may be published early in the New Year. Like the previous editions, it will contain a chapter on the teaching of history.
Mr. SMITHasked the President of the Board of Education whether he is satisfied that in the preparation of syllabuses and examination papers in respect of the subject of history the Examination Board is guided by the best and most up-to-date text books?
§ Lord E. PERCYI do not know to what examination board the hon. Member refers. I should not think that any board of examiners is necessarily guided by any particular text books in drawing up syllabuses or setting papers for examinations.
