HC Deb 30 April 1926 vol 194 c2298W
Mr. NAYLOR

asked the Minister of Labour how many men in the packing and wrapping paper-making industry were out of employment at the end of March; and what percentage that number represents of the total number engaged in the industry?

Sir A. STEEL-MAITLAND:

Separate statistics are not available in respect of the packing and wrapping paper-making industry, but at 22nd March, 1926, there were 1,908 men classified as belonging to the paper and paper-board making industry recorded as unemployed, or 5.1 per cent. of the number of men in that industry insured under the Unemployment Insurance Acts.
