§ Mr. AMERYNorthern Rhodesia and Tanganyika have received loans from Imperial funds amounting to £238,000 and £3,085,891 respectively. Terms of repayment for these "Loans-in-aid," as they are more correctly called, have not yet been finally arranged. The desired information as regards the other East African Dependencies is set out in the cable annexed. No share in the assets created by any of these loans is held by the Imperial Government, but it will be seen from the table that, in general, the loans advanced by the Imperial Government are secured by law on the revenue and assets of the borrowing Dependency.
