HC Deb 21 April 1926 vol 194 c1221W
Mr. SHORT

asked the Minister of Labour the number of claims for unemployment benefit allowed by the rota committees attached to the Wednesbury Employment Exchange since 1st January, and the number of such claims where the decisions of the committees have been disallowed by the officer of the Ministry?

Sir A. STEEL-MAITLAND

Out of a total of 1,626 applications for extended benefit considered by the Wednesbury Local Committee between 12th January and 12th April, 1,561 were recommended for allowance. The recommendations were accepted by the Ministry in all save 22 cases.
