HC Deb 16 April 1926 vol 194 cc731-2W
Sir J. PENNEFATHER

asked the Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs how many migrants have left this country for the Empire overseas during the first three months of 1926 and the numbers for the same three months of 1923, 1924 and 1925?

Mr. SAMUEL:

I have been asked to reply. The particulars for the first quarter of 1926 are not yet available. The number of British subjects recorded as leaving permanent residence in Great Britain and Northern Ireland to take up permanent residence in the British Empire overseas during the two months January and February, 1926, was 15,765. The corresponding figures for 1924 and 1925 were 13,952 and 14,084. The figure of 14,240 for January and February, 1923, covers the emigrants from Great Britain and the whole of Ireland.
