Mr. ROBINSONasked the President of the Board of Trade whether it is proposed to impose a duty on imported hosiery and knitted wear; and whether he has any evidence that the United States are, or have been, exporting these goods to this country at or below the cost of manufacture and material?
§ Sir P. CUNLIFFE - LISTER:The application for a safeguarding duty on hosiery and knitted wear of certain descriptions has been referred to a Committee of Inquiry, which is now taking evidence. I have no doubt that any evidence there may be of the nature mentioned in the second part of the question will be submitted to the Committee by the applicants.
