§ Sir B. CHADWICKI understand that the London County Council have passed, and communicated to the Food Council, resolutions bearing on this subject. These resolutions will be considered by the Food Council in connection with the inquiry which they are conducting into short weight and measure in the sale of foodstuffs. It is not possible to state in advance of the Food Council's Report whether legislation of the kind referred to will be introduced.
