§ Mr. AMERYOn 31st December last, British subjects, including missions, but excluding Indians, held 1,106,994 acres; 961W British Indians held 266,154 acres; and foreigners held 396,142 acres. With regard to the conditions of tenure, I would refer the hon. Member to the section on land in the Report on Tanganyika Territory for 1924, published by the Stationery Office as Colonial No. 11. As pointed out in the answer to the hon. Member for East Woolwich (Mr. Snell) on the 27th of July, land is no longer alienated in freehold title.
