§ Mr. BASIL PETOasked the Minister of Health whether he has received requests from electors in London and the provinces asking that advice and instruction on birth control should be given at maternity centres to married women on the recommendation of medical men; and whether these requests included many from medical officers of health and other persons in authority?
Mr. CHAMBERLAINThe answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. As regards the second part, I have no record of having received such a request from any medical officer of health, but a few have been received from magistrates, doctors, teachers and other responsible, persons.
