§ Lord E. PERCYThe following table shows the position for the school years ending 31st July, 1911, 1921, and 1924, school years being the only periods for which such statistics are compiled.
2059WIn the year 1900-01 there were 230 schools of art and 48 branch schools of art, with 56,213 students. It is impossible for that year to give figures for art classes comparable to those for the other years, because the method of classification was not the same.
