§ Mr. MacLARENasked the Minister of Health whether he has in contemplation the introduction of legislation to enable local authorities to town-plan parts of towns already built; and whether he will include any measure of recovering from owners of adjacent land, by means of a special rate, the value given to their land by the features in such town-planning schemes which develop landed property?
Mr. CHAMBERLAINI hope to introduce legislation dealing with the town planning of built-up areas when a favourable opportunity occurs. The existing Acts already contain a provision as to betterment, and I will consider whether any further provision is required.
