§ Captain REIDasked the Secretary of State for War if it is contemplated, in view of the extension of the Territorial Army and its present position as a second line of defence, that remuneration to officers of the Territorial Army should be extended so as to include those who are unable to attend the annual training; and if it is contemplated that Territorial officers who at-tend training should be given some further rebate on their Income Tax than that represented by file £10 deducted for wear and tear of clothing?
§ Sir L. WORTHINGTON-EVANSI cannot give pay to officers who do no training. As regards the second part of the question, I would refer the hon. and gallant Member to the answer given by the Chancellor of the Exchequer to the right hon. and learned Member for Spen Valley (Sir J. Simon) on the 24th of February last.
