§ Mr. TREVELYANasked the President of the Board of Education if he is aware that the local education authority now at Bootle are bringing central classes to an end on 31st March; why this step is being taken; and whether any alternative or superior form of advanced education is being provided?
§ Lord E. PERCYThe Board informed the local authority last April that they would not be able to recognise these central classes after 31st March next. I understand that the authority is conducting an inquiry into the question of providing advanced instruction in the area, and I have already asked them to send representatives to confer with me in the near future so soon as this inquiry is completed.
