§ Mr. KELLYasked the Secretary of State for War if he will again take into consideration the claim of S. H. Smith for compensation for injuries sustained in 1916 while travelling on the ss. "Tuscania" to the United States on Government service?
§ Sir L. WORTHINGTON-EVANSI have inquired into this claim, and I find that it has been repeatedly considered, first by the Ministry of Munitions and later by the War Department, and has been rejected on the ground that the circumstances of the accident as described by Mr. Smith do not constitute an injury specifically attributable to the nature of his duty, so as to qualify him for an award of compensation. I regret that I am unable to come to any different conclusion.
