§ Mr. CHURCHILLThe total approved recommendations for advances from the Development Fund from its establishment up to date amount to £6,315,991 (grants, £5,334,098; loans, £981,893). The gross amount actually issued from the fund to date is £4,118,997 (grants, £3,409,325; loans, £709,672). The total expenditure to date from the sum of £850,000 added to the Development Fund under the Corn Production Acts (Repeal) Act, 1921, on the establishment of scholarships and maintenance giants for the children of agricultural workers is £38,940.
