§ Mr. CHAMBERLAINStatistics are not available as to the total number of houses erected prior to the War, but the figures in the following table, which are taken from Inland Revenue Returns, as to Inhabited House Duty, show the net increase in the number of houses during the periods in question. The figures for marriages are also included in the table:
