§ Major TRYONThe total number of disabled officers and men in receipt of medical and surgical treatment (including in-patients, out-patients and cases of treatment at home) was, on the 31st December, 1920, 167,800; on the 31st December, 1922, 98,700, and on 31st December, 1924, 53,900. The decline in the aggregate numbers is due mainly to the natural fall in the number of men requiring only out-patient treatment for their disabilities.
