§ Mr. RHYS DAVIESasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if he has at any time during recent years received a Report from the British representative in the Argentine concerning the conditions prevailing among the people forming the Welsh Colony in the Chubut Valley; and, if not, whether he will call for such a Report, showing the number of Welsh-speaking inhabitants at present in the Colony, the growth or decline of the Welsh-speaking population, and the cultural and economic conditions prevailing among the colonists?
Mr. SAMUELA Report on a visit paid by His Majesty's Consul-General at Buenos Aires to the Welsh settlement in the Chubut Valley was received in February, 1923. This Report, which appears to supply the type of information desired by the hon. Member, will be communicated to him. Should there be any specific points on which supplementary information is desired by the hon. Member I shall be happy to ask His Majesty's Minister for a further Report?
