Mr. CHAMBERLAINThe answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. I have already stated in reply to a question by the hon. Member for Oxford University (Lord H. Cecil) on the 11th May, that the county council are taking steps to improve the maternity and child welfare service in this district and the further investigation suggested in the second part of the question does not, therefore, seem to be necessary.
