Mr. GUINNESSThe total amount of British Government securities of all classes held by British Government Departments and public offices on 31st March, 1925, is estimated at a little below £1,000,000,000. This figure does not include holdings of members of the public on the Post Office Register of Government Stocks and in the old Savings Bank Investment Account, about £211 millions; nor securities held by the Public Trustee, about £55 millions; nor British Government securities held by the India Office and the Crown Agents for the Colonies, which are understood to be about £90 millions.
